Neighborhood Preparedness Initiatives:

• A list is managed and kept with  resident names and contact information by a neighbor. Community members add and update their contact information annually. 
• The WECOM GMRS emergency radio team meets every Tuesday at 7 PM to practice communication skills especially focusing on emergency communications if power is out or if we are trapped by fallen trees and power lines. 
• EMERGENCY MEDICAL TEAM is forming for those who have interest or experience in first aid training, or medical training, or skills or medical supplies.
• FUEL REDUCTION TEAM: Work will include cutting and pulling invasive weeds, carrying out branches, and more.  Work parties with some food and festivities while making homes more fire safe are being planned. Also a chance to learn about native plants and birds and ecology. Meetings will begin in late June or early July.
• COMMITTEE FOR RESEARCHING UNDERGROUNDING AND LOBBYING PGE TO CUT TREES AND REPLACE POLES
• FIRE INSURANCE RESEARCH COMMITTEE TO CLARIFY WHO IS GETTING CANCELLED, HOW TO AVOID CANCELLATION & ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS
• MONITORING THE PUBLIC ACCESS FIRE MONITORING CAMERAS
